With the current economic downturn, nonprofits are findings ways to be innovative, save money and streamline their operations.
I say -- its about time!!
I know that its hard for many nonprofits to prioritize their operations, because they don't have the time or the money. However, speaking from personal experience, if you make the effort now, you'll end up saving money in the long run.
To that extent, I'm getting tired of the media focusing on negative stories of nonprofits struggling to survive, so recently I started tagging POSITIVE stories of nonprofits that are saving money, improving their operations and thriving during this current economic downturn.
What are some positive stories you have heard about nonprofits doing well during this economic downturn?

Hi
I stumbled upon your posts while searching for leadership-related blogs. Very interesting!
Personally, I'm quite interested in social entrepreneurship. Do you think that the current recession will encourage more nonprofits to embark on for-profit initiatives to make up for funding short falls?
